While I was working at my desk this afternoon,  I looked outside and saw this bird, feasting on the seeds of a basil plant in our herb garden.  A photo editor once told me that worse than misspelling someone’s name in a photo caption, is misidentifying a bird.  At the risk of public outcry, I believe that this is a Lesser Goldfinch.  If not, I’m sure someone will correct me.
