The Cowboy Breakfast, the traditional start of the Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo, was held Friday March 2, at Auditorium Shores in downtown Austin. Thousands of Austinites gathered to enjoy the food, fun and music. Butch Dohman and his Soup Bone Cattle Company prepared biscuits and gravy for the crowd. While most of us were still asleep, he and his crew were busy building a fire, making the coffee and preparing the biscuit dough. After the last biscuit was served and people headed off to work or school, he, like a true cowboy, was busy washing the pots and pans.
