While on a recent assignment in West Texas, I had the opportunity to stop and photograph at the Monahans Sandhills State Park. I was immediately taken with the view. The rolling dunes and dramatic cloud formations made for some interesting photographs. Some of the dunes reach heights up to seventy feet. Hiking up to the top was a workout, but well worth the effort. Though perhaps not as large as White Sands National Park in New Mexico, the Monahans Sandhills offers an equally interesting experience. If you are ever traveling on Interstate 20, stop for a visit. Like me, you will be glad that you did. Here’s a slide show of images.
