The news of the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia this weekend was a great shock. Although he was well known for his blunt style and blistering dissenting opinions, he was well liked by his colleagues and had warm friendships with those who did not share his Constitutional views.
A little over two years ago, I had the pleasure of photographing the Investiture Ceremony of Supreme Court of Texas Chief Justice Nathan Hecht. Justice Scalia spoke and presided at the swearing in ceremony. His good humor and warmth of personality were on display that day. RIP Justice Scalia.
